Hormes – A family business with a long tradition in the beverage industry. Founded by Wilhelm Hormes, a mechanical engineer from Dortmund and former employee of what is now KHS, our company has evolved over four generations into an innovative and internationally recognised player in the beverage industry. With steady growth and a strong vision, we have achieved global success.
Since the 2010s, Hormes has continuously expanded its production range, particularly in dry and wet areas as well as conveyor technology.
During the 2010s, Hormes significantly increased its production capacity. The construction of Plant 2 was a response to the growing number of orders.
In the 1990s, the company leadership passed to the third generation, Rainer Hormes and his cousin Manfred. They have continued to expand the company’s portfolio.
Since the 1980s, Hormes has been supplying machinery to diverse locations worldwide, including the African continent.
From the 1970s, the company was led by brothers Helmut and Karl-Heinz Hormes. The Essen production site was continuously expanded.
The Hormes family converted a building into a workshop with an office on the ground floor and living quarters above. This became the foundation of Wilhelm Hormes GmbH & Co. KG in 1955.
The site in Badbergen had become too small, so Wilhelm Hormes purchased a vacant building in 1953 that had once housed a mill and a black bread bakery.
After World War II, mechanical engineer Wilhelm Hormes, originally from Dortmund, settled in Badbergen with his family.
